Re: Hosting infrastructure based on Odoo

This is the goal at the end. For now there isn't enough access right/ir rules to allow a direct access on the platform, but once it'll be done users will be able to manage their base/services in the interface and we can even imagine them managing their own application.
Imagine an integrator which have access to the application menu, he'll be able to easily modify the recipes to select the community modules he want, and then when a customer create an instance he directly have the modules selected by the integrator. This allow to easily create and promote verticalization according to me.

The next step is developing an html form which interact with the orchestror and we can place on website to allow visitor to easily create their own instances.

One word about conception, the orchestror is clearly a single point of failure, and the danger will increase considerably when we'll open an access on the orchestror to the customer. But do we have any other choice?

Hello Yannick,

The work you did seems to be very interesting. Does it give opportunity to any end user to add any service he needs ?

Dear Community,

I just published on my blog a presentation of the hosting infrastructure I developed for the open-source projects I am working on, an infrastructure based on Odoo. I know many people here have their own hosting infrastructure but maybe it can interest some of you.

When I developed it, I did it with the ambitions to host any kind of applications later so flexibility was the only word in my mind. I'd like to share the cost of maintaining it and depending of the reactions I may decide to create a community around it.

Then, if you are planning to make you own hosting offer or want to evolve your existing, or are just interested by the subject, I invite you to read my post :

I do not consider I’m an expert in hosting, just a good enough one, and I know many things shall be improved.

I also do not know what will happen after this post, I don’t know if there is a real need or if everyone prefer maintaining their own scripts because it’s their own and they need flexibility. Just tell me what you think.

Thank you for your attention,
