Re: Odoo 8 source on OpenSUSE 13.1

Hi Humberto,

Thanks for the notes!

The steps I used for OpenSUSE13.1 are pretty similar, except for a few things:

I am using the source tarball because it seems that the bazaar repository is now cleared out (nothing inside except translation files and a README.txt that now points me to Github.)

The command used to launch openerp-server defines 2 addon directories:

./openerp-server -r openerp -w openerp --addons-path=../addons/,../web/addons/ --load=web

But for Odoo8, there is one addons directory and the web directory is under the addons directory. The missing (error 404) files are in the web directory but Odoo server cannot seem to find it. I tried adding the web directory manually, but I get an error:

./openerp-server --addons-path=/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/openerp-8.0_ae02468-py2.7.egg/openerp/addons/,/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/openerp-8.0_ae02468-py2.7.egg/openerp/addons/web/ --load=web
Usage: openerp-server [options]

openerp-server: error: option --addons-path: The addons-path '/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/openerp-8.0_ae02468-py2.7.egg/openerp/addons/web/' does not seem to a be a valid Addons Directory!

So close! Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Hi all,

I am trying to get Odoo8 installed on OpenSUSE 13.1 and I think I am
almost there - but not quite.

I am using the source tarball to install and I managed to find and
install all the dependencies and I can get ./openerp-server to run, but
now I have some problems. When I go to http://odooserver:8069 the first
time, I get an Internal Server error. The log files show this (in part):

If I do a refresh, it looks like it is loading, but then gives me a
blank page with just the Odoo logo. In the logs, it looks like it cannot
find a lot of files (404 errors):

What am I doing wrong here? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Regards,
