Some days ago, Fabien even sent me an email telling he feels that most of community apps are of poor quality which I agree very much. Instead in the OCA we do a tremendous effort to get a top quality in all OCA apps.
I think it's very important to differentiate that excellent quality from the background noise.
This differentiation process and the visibility of how it works, what are the conditions for quality, is absolutely essential to sustain the business models of the programmers behind these quality modules. Because quality doesn't come for free.
In my opinion, people who don't write community modules or very few shouldn't even try to give us any advice about this because they simply have no clues how it works.
Now, if this is integrated or not in the official apps is a very secondary aspect. Why not if we get the proper differentiation in the official apps.
But in any case, there is no point in thinking somebody that will not be able to use Google to find a module will ever succeed in an ERP project.
