That is correct, but the manifiest has external dependency for scribus-ng. You have to remove that to install without Scribus on the server. But Scribus SLA-mode does not have the ability to merge records /This looks fantastic.I've had a quick look at the samples and the code and I have a couple of questions.
My general observation without having installed the software is it allows you to design in a GUI and output an sla file which is then rendered by email.template rendering functions when called.
documents to one.
All functions in email.template.render_template do work, which I think, if and for. I have only tested simple notation so far.Aligned with that I guess is pagination - if a for loop spread over a page what happens?Control Functions - e.g. if, for - are these supported? If so, in GUI or manual editing of sla files?
Not intensionally ;-) Do you think its necessary? Are Custom parsers supported? It appears they could be.
Headers and footers at a single page, yes. Page numbers no. The page-merge takes place in PDF. It takes some more work to merge SLA-documents. But then, its possible to have index-page and running page numbers. Are headers and footers supported? At first glance it appears not (things like correct page numbers comes to mind)
Thank you, good luck! But I'll give this a real road test in a few weeks. Might be just what we were looking for.

We are happy to announce another enhancement to Odoo reporting; the Scribus report types. Scribus is a multi plattform FOSS page layout program with ability to create high quality PDF for professional printing. The module uses Scribus pages in sla-format as templates. With a notation like the one in e-mail templates its easy to link data from Odoo to the report. The report type Scribus PDF generates PDF-output, Scribus SLA a sla-file that you can do touch up to. The SLA-variant can only handle one object at a time. Read more and download: https://apps.openerp.com/apps/
