Exactly Carlos you bring it to the point! Thanks! This is what we do since years! - :-). Our ideas we communicate directly with people in charge and for sure not here on the mailing list. But for evaluation and testing of ideas its a great list here.

We are trainers and teach Houssine. So the community will be created by those who learn if they are still interested and have made their own experiences in that community. Unfortunately until now they don't feel at all welcome. Who wonders!

I don't blame anybody for not creating a community - not at all - Houssine. We are old enough to know what is useful and what would actually solve the problems mentioned here on the list again and again - by the way not by us.

Those problems are 90% communicational problems. Roadmaps which are not known. Modules which are not structured and easy to find. And again and again the same complaints of actually the same people with know how and experience and those coming new to that community, which remind to build up a community. On the other side are those who have businesses running on Odoo and their programmers but who are themselves actually no programmers at all.

From the business point of view we can continue with this Odoo - red line - until Version 20 and nothing will change. Odoo is handled like commercial software and its community functions as dummy and manpower resource. This is what it was before Tryton forked and it is still the same.

We already know that there is no interest to build a real community in Odoo for odoo Community version. Have a look to Tryton and you see just the opposite, only as one example. Anyway we won't leave by the way as we love Odoo :-). And for us it is a great tool for our lessons.

"Do or Do not, there is no try" exactly :-)

This is exactly the reason why we are using Odoo as Example for our studies and for sure this will be always a neverending story! Nice or!

Have a good night!

Why fork?? just adapt and submit to ODOO SA decisions, that's where the buck is.

I think that Frodo is quiet busy for now... but you can give a try...

Andy please give the first move, create community, gather people around this community and create your fork or contribute to the community version with modules or addons...

FYI, you could just fork one module and rewrite all the module from scratch... as website seems to be your only skill in Odoo maybe you should start there. This will be for sure highly interesting as there is major thing to add on the website capabilities...

Or you can stay noisy on this mailing list but doing nothing very useful for anyone except writing thousand lines email that nearly no one read after the 10 first lines...

That upon to you but don't blame people here to not create the community that you didn't create...

As said Yoda "Do or Do not, there is no try" except that here you can try whatever you want...

Get that thing done!

Dominique you are absolutely right. The people here in that community like to follow Odoo no matter where the way goes but always in the hope that it is getting better, even they know that never happened until Odoo is existing.

It is simply worth to remind the people here that it was their decision not to make a community fork.
The problem of forking is more a psychological problem as when Tryton did their fork they moved as a Team ;-)

Unfortunately those none Team members and individualists resided here like we! :-)

As a result you will have never a clear roadmap you can work on as Odoo S.A. does not communicate early their goals their steps etc. They usually present finished stuff and than the community has to cope with it if they like it or not.

"Now, nothing prevents you to start your own project, make friends and propose a road-map. Do you homework and speak when you have good news."

This communication might never happen as we here already realised that their is more an against towards progress in the community. And we are not alone with this fact!

Read only statements of some people here. They are so kindish when some people propose something so for what reason should they communicate their plans.

This is why I suggest building a DEMOCRATIC Association which leads Odoo Community Version and which will be able to unite the community of the old days again.

So lets be noisy as often we can be. Perhaps the community actually does not even know what is going on already in the community ;-) even the majority of it seems to close their eyes and be sleeping.

Enjoy your evening!
