Re: Odoo vs Apache OFBiz?by

You are wrong. Let me repeat it one more time:
- the community version is very important to Odoo
- we have no plan to let the community version down, and it will always be a great product for users
- the community version will continue to improve quickly as we invest in it, and community members contribute to it.
Yes, we do have plans to add valuable features in Odoo Enterprise. But it does not go against the evolution of the community version. It's actually the opposite: it's because we have a good business model that we can invest so much in the product.
Why do you think others open source ERP are far behind Odoo?
We designed the two products to support this: Odoo Enterprise is a set of modules on top of Odoo Community. Odoo Community being the foundation of Odoo Enterprise, you have the guarantee that we work on both to make the product better.
In terms of ratio, our efforts are spread at 80% in the community version and 20% in the enterprise version.
It's a fair ratio because it guarantees Odoo Community to evolve quickly with the majority of r&d investments. In the other end, 20% is enough to build a few very attracting features to make people want to buy Odoo Enterprise.
it's our target, but I actually did not check that. Would be interesting if someone can do a bit of analytics and verify the activity on both master branches on github. Or sloccount both branches.
> With Apache ofBiz, it seems truly open source and there are other open source erp vendors that have built on top of ofBiz such as growerp, hotwaxsystens. In long term, It seems like Apache open source community will be contributing more than to odoo community unless odoo starts contributing to community edition. They should copy magento community/enterprise model.
