Hi Johan,

I could be interested in more details about your design. Don't hesitate to share.

Many thanks,

Jerome

Hi Jerome,

You don’t need to copy your document. You can put a link to the document in GDrive in ir.attachement. Ir.attachement just brings the document and an Odoo object ( Invoice / lead / … ) together. We are working on a connection with Owncloud ourselves.

Best regards,

Johan

Hi Nhomar,

Thanks alot for your input, and especially to point out it has been fixed in master. This means it is more a "bug" than a pattern, that's good news. I still think that using CSS class is a poor design parttern and I really hope there will be a more robust way of extending the interface.

That said, I must disagree with your other point (beside I still do not see your real issue with my design, JS is not Evil anymore ;-)), extending ir.attachement as you suggest is not what my module is meant for. To the opposite, the idea is to attach an existing GDrive document to a record. E.g. my invoice are scanned and automatically imported into GDrive, I link them to my Odoo record when I have created the invoice in Odoo.

Extending as you suggest would mean another copy of the doc in GDrive, which is exactly what I want to avoid.

I have no problem to discuss a different approach to do this, but I see a real difference from the S3 module you pointed out.

Best regards,

Jérôme

I can not talk by aaaaalll OCA.

But on our side we take care a lot of this, and it is being done consistently (with minor pending changes and differences) both, for good or for bad reasons.

IMHO this case is a legacy code no migrated properly (on master it is Ok).
