For the 'usual' operations, odoo should be able to generate the entries.
However, purely accounting operations will need to be input manually, such as:
- re classification of entries (after audit) etc...
IMO, It is hard to make a set up for every cases, and accountants should know what they are doing, hence the standard journal entry menu should be best.
