Re: Settings when printing to DOT printersby
We have been working with a report tool called GeraldoReports and a module called CubicReport that depends on the firstone. At first it only worked for v7, but after a few modifications now it works on v8. We have not use it on v9 yet. The app generates a text file with a .prn extension that you could open in any raw text tool like notepad, and send it from there to the printer. This is the link for the v7 https://apps.openerp.com/apps/7.0/report_geraldo/
Please contact me if you need further assistance.
Changing the report type from PDF to HTML and printing it also provides a lot better output, specially using Firefox, as with Chrome print quality is not as good.
It is all related to installed fonts and the way each program handles conversions... If anyone has fixed this please share...
As to printing directly in ascii to printer, PosBox proxy could be a good start, as it has Esc/POS support...

(Choose Java as is a piece of cake with it :) )Hi Luke,Sadly seems like converting to PDF will fail terrible for DOT printer due concept and current technology. On Wed, Mar 9, 2016 at 10:16 PM, Luke Branch <firstname.lastname@example.org> wrote:Hi Juan,I'm also interested in this for printing Waybills.
Sent from my iPhoneHello,I'm facing a big issue when printing to DOT printers. I have several Epson LX-300+II and when printing directly from windows (with Cristal Reports) the output is great.Issue comes when printing either directly from Odoo or from the generated PDF file. I noted that the output is the worst, no matter what type of font I set. What I noted is also that Odoo DPI truly have some kind of influence on it and the result is bad either increasing or decreasing the the DPI...Does anyone have any other technique, method or idea in order to make a smooth printing with those DOT printers?Regards,Juan Vidal
