Yes the current javascript technical documentation is completetly out dated. 
You are better of using the source code as reference.

Most of our documentation effort are currently on the fuctionnal side.

But as I get more and more question about the new js api. I will assign 
someone on the documentation update this week but it will probably take one 
month to be completed.
