Translations are centralized in transifex: if you think it is not proper please join the team and propose amendments.
Besides, afaik, you can already upload PO files in odoo and you can edit translations in odoo to override the one from transifex if necessary.

It is probably best you will create your own .po files as indeed lots of wording is simply not what it should be correctly (also in German Translation of Odoo) and it does not seem that Odoo is interested in correcting them - in case of German i.e. by the correct terms used in https://github.com/equitania/odoo-addons/blob/develop9.0/equitania/i18n/de.po

Another quite useful "module" or feature could be to be able to translate single terms from within Odoo itself. At TYPO3 the extension lfeditor is doing that job and no need to enter a translation server or a translation file directly as all gets done from within the system - it is very very useful and is something like that would exist at Odoo it would be used a lot I think.

Different modes to enter the translated new terms or even add new or delete not used terms help that translations stay always the same when modules or the system itself gets updated. Perhaps this TYPO3 module could be give you some ideas to create something similar for Odoo.
