You could also use Automated Actions. In Odoo 8, You can Navigate to Settings > Automation > Automated Actions and create a new action.

The created record would look something like this:

Then, in the Actions tab, you can create a new action and send an e-mail, or execute Python function or choose from the array of other available options. Automated actions is a powerful functionality of Odoo.

override the create function of your model, call the super function and put your code after the super function execution. don't forget to return the returned value of the super create function.

Be aware that other module might already have overrided the create function of you module. So you will have to unsure that you don't break the chain!

Hi All,

I want to create an action when the product is really saved, basically I want to increase the inventory of my product when in click save on an own module.

is that feasible or is better an extra button?
