Re: document management solution ??by
Very often It is enough to have a "little" document management system. Eg. you want to manage the documents relevant to your products or some such.knowledge is running in 9 here if you are the admin. You need to use the newest version in branch 9.0.with the user management there seems to be a problem still.
slides is a different way of document presentation I would say. But it can be used for that purpose too.
Versioning is one of the features which were available in Odoo 8.0 and got eliminated in Version 9.0 Community Edition. Now Versioning is only available if you buy an Enterprise subscription - or ;-) you adjust the versioning of Version 8 so that it works in Version 9.
but +1 to Dominique as a real document management like you would find i.e. alfresco isn't existing in Odoo.
I'll happily adjust things from V8. However I still wonder how to find out where to find documentation what changed between 8 and 9..

IMHO odoo document management is too old fashion for today.
Odoo manages documents as attachment to a record.
There is no versioning and the interface is old. Today, users expect to drag and drop in a browser to upload document, and to be able to see documents in a consolidated view.
Odoo is not there.On 24 Feb, 2016 3:58 pm, "robert rottermann" <email@example.com> wrote:

What "document management" should do is:What hold hat system do?
other than "slides", "knowledge" is already doing in Version 9
draft-1 -> draft-x ..- v1
v2-draft .. -> ... v2
drafts are only accessible internally
final versions are visible to some other group/public
all final versions accessible at a given place / url
I saw "knowledge" but this seems to be odoo 7
Slides I looked at but does not seem to support any "management" of documents. But I will look at it more closely.
