knowledge is running in 9 here if you are the admin. You need to use the newest version in branch 9.0.with the user management there seems to be a problem still.slides is a different way of document presentation I would say. But it can be used for that purpose too.Versioning is one of the features which were available in Odoo 8.0 and got eliminated in Version 9.0 Community Edition. Odoo manages documents as attachment to a record.
There is no versioning and the interface is old. Today, users expect to drag and drop in a browser to upload document, and to be able to see documents in a consolidated view.

I saw "knowledge" but this seems to be odoo 7
Slides I looked at but does not seem to support any "management" of documents. But I will look at it more closely.
