Just one comment before jumping into implementing IFRS reports vs Odoo.
IFRS and US GAAP have differences regarding accounting policies e.g. revenue recognition, accounting for equity etc..
So you need to question the business of your client, and check the accounting flow. If your client is a small business, it may well be that you can use Odoo out-of-the box, with may be some adjustments to be done at the end of the financial year. These adjustments will be instructed and passed by the accountant.
