Hi John,We have a similar situation ( also in food industry) whereby each location is treated as cost centre and did some enhancements to tackle internal location transfers and each location is realised with Internal Sales and Purchases. However, we are using periodic inventory. That is, if you transfer mushroom from New Orleans to Dallas, and expect New Orleans Cost center to report an expense and Dallas to report a revenue.- If you expect to be able to retrieve a separate balance sheet by location.As Yoshi pointed out, we have released 'Operating Units' as a means to manage independent units in an organizations, where transactional data (sales order, purchase order, invoices,...) is segmented by OU, including access permissions, and you can produce a self-balanced Balance Sheet as well as a P&L for each OU.Regards,Jordi.

I am trying to figure out the best way to setup a cost centers in Odoo 8 Accounting.
Basically I would like to maintain a clean chart of accounts, and be able to define cost centers on transactions.
We have many locations, I would like to avoid having to have a GL account for every Chart/location.
I would like to make the location a "Cost center", so that any transaction that takes place for that location, gets attributed to the correct chart/location
From what I can see, This is what an analytical account is used for...
Is this correct? does anyone have any experience with this.
I believe its basic accounting.
