Re: V9 - Memory usage over your limit

Check out HOW your memory is increasing!
Check out if perhaps Postgres is the culprit - what version are you using?
Try to restart your odoo-server in regular intervals! Same postgres if you are using a proxy do same with the proxy!
On DIO we figured out that an Odoo Server with 512 and postgres 9.4 gets slow after 1 day if working often with it even you are only one user. with postgres 9.3 this did not happen. On the other hand Version 9.5 seems to be much faster and has not those problems.

You could run that here on a separate screen while doing those operations:
watch -n 5 free -m

and/or do
sudo apt-get install htop

ps_mem.py (found here at pixelbeat.org) is another nice breakdown of memory used by running processes

Check your system in regular intervals to see how it increases and note what you were actually doing during that time. You will realise that even you won't do anything at your site, your memory usage will increase sometimes even tremendously - check out what it is!

Finally you will be able to run Odoo on a Digital Ocean 512 like mentioned already - but it is not the best option. IMHO at DIO you should use at least 2GB - but even they run full if you don't solve those memory problems first.

Or simply use a system which has enough memory to run multiple odoo instances i.e. one from Hetzner.de with 32 GB or even 64 GB at an very affordable price with SSD - and they are very fast too - you will see the performance difference between an Digital Ocean 5212 or 2GB system and an Hetzner SSD server https://www.hetzner.de/de/hosting/produktmatrix/rootserver-produktmatrix-ex
When living outside the EU it is only 39 Euro! (Installation 79 Euro - sometimes even free when they give discounts on it.)

Not knowing what you intend to use Odoo for will not help giving you an answer.
You need at least to state the number of users, concurrent users at peak hours and usage (modules and special needs such as connectors or procurement calculation
