Re: Chart of Account structure & amp; Financial year closing in Odoo 9by

Without a chart of accounts capability, there is no point continuing with Odoo. It really is nothing to do with a reporting engine. It is a fundamental accounting concept. Glad I caught this thread before starting migration work.
Your explanation is way better than mine (may be if this was in Spanish I convinced 1 year ago to Fabien, because I am almost sure I can not because I do not use the corect words some times).
But yeas the statement above is the point, but to clarify.
Account account model IS in v9.0, the problem is that the hierarchy (parent_left, childs and so on) was removed, lefting the Account itself as a "Tag" for the Journal Entries.
The arguments from Fabien is tht Xero and (on his words) most of the softwares do in that way.
My Point is that most of them can be used for little companies where huge data errors can be fixed by 1 accountant.
When you have 1 thousand of accounts (Colombia CoA for example) and when By Law you need to be consistent, you can not trust in a report done to "Emulate your legal data" I want my data correctly done, with no extra effort.
Then Yes, with the actual approach it can be done (programming some extra modules) but I think is stupid such extra load of work when aveything was perfect and better by far conceptually speaking.
Obviously for SaaS offer where an accountant can have no more than 6 month of data because it will simply change to a better accounting software this model is "Ok" I am sure it can be better (because it was) complying a minimal data structure.
I hope it compliment this point.
About !"Reports on Enterprise" bah"! wherever they are, I will need to improve them as usual, but that's not the point here.
