Re: What happened to workflow in Odoo 9 ?by
We use it quite a bit in the Helpdesk application. Whilst it's useful, if Odoo SA decide remove it, please don't remove it by replacing it with writing it in Python. If they ever want to compete with other enterprise ERP, they will need a workflow module or 3rd party software like bpm. If it's removed and only writing the workflow in Python is the only option, I'd go as far as saying it's a bad idea. It's fine for partners or developers, but for others who want to just use it, with some minor tweaking of the XML, it's a bad way to go.
Personally like the idea of BPM.

Ideally we'd drop it. It's not that great and a pain performance wise. Plus it's pretty unpredictable if you customize it or override functions depending if the worker has loaded it or not.
Replace it with a cross application bpm designed to manage organisation workflow, make it easy to plug in like ppl have been suggesting for years.
Think of all the odoo features that are a shadow of a proper application, and how much better it would be to integrate workflow with those best of breed apps.
Even if it's a short term pain, I'd be glad to see it gone.
Hey,I think diagram view is best for technical admins.
Workflow are like engine. There should be always something in a software to show to end users!

Perhaps OCA could step in here and put those improvements on their own roadmap, while ODOO S.A. will guarantee that it won't get removed or replaced by something else in 10 or 11. Than it would benefit both and it would be an improvement investment with at least 2-4 years usage.
