RE: [v8] Is Odoo able to manage products that work with variable units of measure?by
Thank you Nhomar.
Can you please elaborate a little more? I am not sure that I understand what you mean by using a MO to convert them, I can see it for receiving the products, but can't see how can it help me for the sales, since my main problem is that when I input the actual weight (UoM) in the delivery, it changes also the pieces (UoS) and since the invoice inherits the data from delivery lines it reflects incorrectly the pieces.
I agree with you that secondary unit of measure is not the best feature in Odoo, I've seen many other ERP solutions (even some low-budget solutions) solving this functionality in an operative and intuitive way, specially when coming to deal with variable conversions. Can't understand how Odoo have a "variable" type of conversion that does nothing at all when logic comes in.

I am facing serious problems trying to implement Odoo to work with products that use two units of measure and the conversion between them is variable. This seems to be a very common scenario in many industries, that you buy and sell a product in "Pieces" but you manageyour stock and have the prices of the Kg.
Do not use UoS for such scenario.
Try to make a MO to convert them.
UoS sucks in several ways and is not a correct approach for such deal, it only works on little scenarios.
