Re: [v8] Is Odoo able to manage products that work with variable units of measure?by

We have done a similar implementation for the meat processing company and had a similar requirement. We enhanced the sales ordering process by introducing a Sales Unit and the conversion factor at the product level. For ex:- The sales person can select the sales unit as product base unit or a sales/marketing unit , if it's a marketing unit then the system will convert into base unit qty and flow through delivery order and invoice is done perfectly.

The right aproach is to use barcode for weigheted prodoucts. The barcode carries the info about the id number of the product and the weight of the product, then wnen it goes in the POS with the scanner you get the prodouct and the exact weight. It can not be done with varients or UoM since the amount of the numbers are limitless!Στις 9:14 μ.μ. This seems to be a very common scenario in many industries, that you buy and sell a product in "Pieces" but you manageyour stock and have the prices of the Kg.
Do not use UoS for such scenario.Try to make a MO to convert them.UoS sucks in several ways and is not a correct approach for such deal, it only works on little scenarios.
