Hi Ray

Does this really make sense as you would need much better resources to start your odoo on digital ocean than only 512MB!
Beside this it would only make sense if also a proxy would get installed right the way so that people could get rid of the Port Number
Also think about setting up Mail i.e. with Postfix to make the default localhost settings working at least with which odoo comes along.
And there might be much more dependencies which need to be met before you really can work on digital ocean with Odoo.

Much better would be to actually get the scripts from Andre Schenkels and Yenthe to another step so that you would actually load down those scripts and they are analysing if already an odoo installation exists or not

If yes they don't start reinstalling all the basic stuff and simply install another instance after asking the user for the name of the odoo user, the port number etc under which the new site should run.

It their wasn't an installation before it would simply check what operating system is installed and than installing all dependencies and all tools to get with one script a complete Odoo setrup with complete Mailsetup over smtp via localhost (postfix) up and running.

This really would save a lot of time for devs and would make things much easier also for people who like to do their first steps with odoo.

A digital server with a one click odoo which still has the port number, still can't send mail properly, etc is waste of time IMHO as you would need to do it by yourself again!

My request: I’d like anyone who’d like to see Odoo 9.0 Community Edition available as a “one click” app that can be easily installed/evaluated/used when customers setup Cloud Servers/Virtual Private Servers, to VOTE for it, using the link below.

How: Vote at:

Why should you consider doing this?  Increase awareness and installs of the Community Edition; increase the Community base that could be working with and knowing about Odoo (their Community tutorials are visited by over 2,000,000 users a month – and there is an opportunity to get paid to write tutorials for them when Odoo is available as a one click app)

A full list of Apps is at

(This is the only way One Click Apps are made available. Vendors don’t do it. People vote and Digital Ocean does it themselves).

Thanks for reading.
