Re: odoo 9 installation: on most computer jquery is not loaded.by
ah this image you have on snagg it is good.
Do the following.
remove the modules from your custom addon folder which might are conflicting. This usually helps to get back the modules list. Than go to the developer mode and deactivate those modules or even remove them until you have a combination which will work.
Probably you are loading a jequery twice or you have a simple syntax error. This you can see in the odoo log file. Open that logfile and check the time./
Than reload your site again and check what is the message in the log file. This will direct you to the source. If there is no logfile than please specify the path in the conf file. and restart odoo-server.
I hope that helps.

I tried on different browsers (firefox, chrome, safari) and different os (linux, mac os)
only on one single computer/firefox combination the editing works.
on the other ones I can login, but I then am presented with a page containing only the logo in left upper corner and no way to navigate. see: http://snag.gy/4Av3J.jpg

Safaris newest update the editing will simply delete the marked text you wuld like to insert instead of filling it in, while in opera you can work as usual and edit the content. And there are numerous of similar things which work in one browser but not in another one.
As you can see on the screen shot "nothing" is there. I assume that jquery fails to load and therefore the onload event is not triggered.
