Re: odoo login like Saas

@Andreas thank you I really appreciate, it keep me motivated.

@Dominique I agree with you. Multidb with an application as sensitive as odoo is a risk and for most use in production it's best to separate in different containers / vm.
Still it can be useful sometimes but if you want to make an saas service like odoo sa you have to think about if you want to it with multi base or multi container. You can't have that much odoo containers per server since each services use a lot or RAM, while you can have hundred of bases on one single service, but this is an ERP we're speaking about security is important.

By the way, I am very interested by more details about the story and technical side of the MOOC you're talking about. Are we talking about the F.U.N. MOOC?
Also I take the opportunity to publicly thank you for the precious advices you gave me about hosting when I started Clouder.

@Ludovic I am clearly a maniac of the scalability, the target is not the odoo community but the docker community. I often speak about verticalization with Odoo, Clouder goes even beyond that I want to be able to create verticalization for specific domains not only of one ERP with some custom modules installed but also with all the others applications the company will need (dropbox-like, VoIP, GED, SSO, Monitoring, etc) with each component fully integrated. My goal is to make full open-source infrastructures easier to package and deploy than they are today.

For this reason I think the most important new feature, along with the integration with the c2c connector, is the package feature. To give you an idea, with this you can for example create a template Odoo + Magento which will after the customer submit the form on your website deploy an Odoo container and an Odoo base,  same for Magento, install the c2c connector and configure it with the url of the Magento so the customer get automatic access to a fully configure Odoo and Magento. And nothing of all of this is hardcoded in the core of Clouder.

The core of the next version is almost finished, all features are already developed I just need this week to develop minor features and clean the code. But note that it take time to make sure everything is working for production environment and I am working with some others integrators which will help me beta-test it and make sure it's stable and secure enough. I aim to deploy clouder in some integrators infrastructures in the next months, and have a support service ready before the next odoo days.

Hello,

I'm also interested in that topic.

I was actually hesitating between clouder and the one from yelizariev Github.

@Yannick: I'm really interested in your project, I feel it more scalable, in issue #62 you said ETA end of november for the next branch, how is it going?

@Dominique: May I ask why does the multi-db is a security bad practice?
