Re: [8.0] Odoo 8 responsive theme fundrinsingby
You should have a closer look to ODOO 9 Zahid
All customers we have here right now and which are coming actually want to have version 9 up and running. Also due to the fact that major changes happened and more are coming in Version 10. We started already to get modules from Version 8 to 9 for our customers who need them, so do others, have a look to the repositories. And also the OCA started already to setup everything to be ported. I am sure as soon as one module has been ported and hopefully had been described how to port it to Version 9 many others will follow very soon.
Version 9 has major advantages in comparison to Version 8 - i.e. multi websites!
So I would not encourage my customers to stick with something which is already outdated soon!
By the way the backend resizes already nicely in Odoo 9 and to adjust the color sets so it is more visible on mobile devices use clean_navigation module or derivates with other colour sets. It makes it much more visible. I guess with a community driven approach in an Free Open Software Sense where everybody could contribute and discuss to that app would be much more successful and it probably would even be available from start for Versions 8 and 9.
I suggest instead of investing time in the indiegogo campaign open up your repositories with what you already have and make a call of action that people contribute to what you have. Contribute with ideas with code and of course also with writing of tutorials with customisation options. In other words those are all savings you don't have to do afterwards for all those supporters of different kind. Instead you could focus on support, building a support button like Oodoo does in all apps but make it possible that people get directly to you or to any other company which does offer Odoo services. Integrate even a link to OCA.
With such an approach you would follow the Free Open Software Movements idea and make things available for everybody and you really would contribute something to the community.
I guess - like said already - supporters of indiegogo campaigns are meanwhile very very careful if they invest in a campaign for Odoo again. Only start reading the comments here. This was a great campaign, a great I would say a super financial success for the initiators of the campaign, but for the community it was a big loss IMHO as theme_clean disappeared and came back as expensive derivate for what was freely available before and have a look to those other templates - well they are nothing else than derivates of theme_clean and theme_treehouse with minor css changes. Is this worth so much money? I guess not!
The only money driven approach will bring future developments to a complete stop and delay things unnecessarily until new technologies and ideas from still real Free Open Source Products which are still driven by a community which has access from start to everything which is necessary.
Perhaps it would help too if you would add a Project timeline to your indiegogo site like done here:
This would help people and potential donors to find out where you are already and if it would be feasible to get the stuff done until January 2016 ready for delivery, best with money back guarantee if not!

HII think that the mobile theme for 8 will encourage many customers to stick to v8 for a while.
Odoo 9 is not a valid option for production right now, and we encourage our customers to stay in v8 for a while : it's not 100% stable yet, there are some bugs, some functional regressions, and finally most of community addons are not ported to v9 yet. So v8 will be here for some time.
I think it's worth it. But i am surprised, because people showed a lot of enthosiasm when this them was announced.

So a mobile app which focusses only on 8 is not worth to support for anybody who actually will start using Version 9 or later.Second reason might be the experiences people and contributors had with the indiego ODOO-THEME campaign. They rose much much more money than was actually projected but until now you can't see actually only some duplicates with CSS changes in the Odoo Theme store, mainly based on clean Theme and on Tree house theme. And again here those templates won't work in Version 9 or later!Beside that the Theme_Clean disappeared from the internet more or less and it was the theme most used by people who started to create their own themes. What is really needed would be Themes which can work in 9 and 10 and future versions and at least a guide for people on how to convert themes made for 8 to version 9! i.e. A Graphene 9 Version could already been sold to 5 customers here for the base start of their sites. Instead they decided to wait further. A great website builder without Themes or also your mobile stuff for only ODOO 8 is more contraproductive than reaching out to new customers and fascinate them from Odoo. jm2c.AndiIt seems that every body wanted this theme, but non one dares to contribute.Only 10$ raised in 15 days. What happened ....?Hi communityjust checked this https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/odoo-8-mobile-responsive-app#/
