Re: Unit (Swedish) rounding and POSby
I guess this may have been mentioned already, but the rounding is always upwards. So if the amount on the register is NOK 3.25 they you pay NOK 4.-TorvaldTorvald Baade BringsvorBringsvor Consulting AS - Odoo (formerly OpenERP) implementation partner2015-11-06 12:23 GMT+01:00 Bevan Weiss <firstname.lastname@example.org>:
I agree that having it configurable would be the best option.
In New Zealand there are no longer 1c, 2c or 5c pieces.. so cash transactions are to the nearest 10c.
In Australia there is still a 5c piece so cash transactions are rounded to this.
As mentioned however, non-cash transactions are still to the cent.
Is this the same in all countries? So bank transfers, credit / debit card transactions, even cheques would still be exactly to the cent.
In multi-currency environments it might become important to have it different per currency (for use with a currency exchange office or similar).
I’m not familiar with the Euro zone regulations, do certain countries ever (legally) round to something larger than the 1c Euro? (I can’t see why they would.. but it might be possible)
To add a little more complexity if I may:
Here in Norway (neighbours of Sweden) it is common that the rounding works like you described that you sum up something that costs NOK 1.99 + NOK 1.99 = NOK 3.98. And if you pay with CASH you pay NOK 4. But if you pay with card you pay the exact amount.
Also the minimum available coin, is that configurable somehow? Here we used to have smaller coins but since 2013 the smallest one is the NOK 1 coin (which these days is like 1/10 of an EUR).

i have tested the pos_rounding module.
it is not what i had in mind.
the problem is, the prices are rounded on the article (product) level.
what i was looking for was: correct prices on the article (product) level, and a rounding on the total_amount level.
so two articles, each costing 1.99 euros, make 3.98 euros.
when a customer pays with 4 euros, they don't receive any money back,
because the 2 cents euro coin is not a current coin.
hope this helps,
best regards, Ron
