Thanks for the info on what your R&D is working on for v10. I'm particularly interested in the new ecommerce and POS features.
I had a brief chat with your HK team at the training today regarding the POS loyalty in particular. Is there any chance the POS loyalty module could be separated into its own app to allow the functionality to be used in ecommerce as well as POS? This would allow for a 360 degree loyalty program that I think would be immensely useful for multi-channel retailers.

In short, in our R&D pipe for the next 3 months (mostly for v10 or directly for SaaS users):
Main task:- Usability of all application: faster, easier (no huge changes, thousands of small improvements)
Secondary tasks:- D&D View Editor (customize screen easily)- Migration to new API of all modules (deprecating old API)- Full MRP rewrite (includes maintenance, plm, quality)- Website builder improvements- Themes- eCommerce missing features: dashboard, multi-photos, etc- POS (tips, scale, secondary screen, blackbox in BE...)- Native mobile of all apps- Improve accounting localisation of countries in standard,- A SaaS platform for partners and community modules (deploy, runbot, upgrade...),- Odoo Discuss: all the features of slack including connectors (Github, Twitter will be the first ones)- Improved user documentation
This is just for the next 3 months, much more will come for v10 but we used to not plan too much in advance; (lean)
--FabienHi Fabien are there other modules which might get reviewed for 9 too? It would be good to know about the roadmap so that developments could be pushed into things which don't will reinvent wheels which aren't perhaps necessary anymore after a complete remake of a module.
Yes, we will probably review issues for v10, but not in the short term. (may be in 6 to 9 months)
One of the feature we are thinking about is to merge issues and tasks. I also think that issues can be improved to support multi-channels helpdesk (twitter, ...), with a clean link between Odoo Discuss and Issues.
This looks amazing!
Fabien, just out of curiosity, do you have any plans on any major developers on the "issues" module? I want to propose some changes to the module, which I think will help others using that module as an helpdesk.

Congrats for the initiative. We hope to see more community sprints like this.
For the record, we plan to release new MRP applications in a few months. Everything you develop on MRP might be deprecated at the next release. If you spend time developing new modules, I recommend contributing on apps that will not evolve: accounting, sale, purchase, inventory, website, marketing, hr, ... (What about a perfect italian localisation?)
That way, you build for the long term.
We at Abstract (http://abstract-technology.com) would like to organize an OCA sprint here in Italy (26-29 of April).
Here you can understand the what, the where and the how of this proposal:
The program of the sprint is up to the partecipants, and we will manage the proposals in this document:
The location we propose is amazing, so is the price of the rooms at this 4* hotel, that includes breakfast and dinner (!!).
We'll have the good south-Italian climate of April, the garden and the pool of the venue, a wonderful landscape and much more.
Hope to see you all in Sorrento in April!--
