Yeah, all you can do at the moment is to search "issue" field, which is the original text. It would be good to be able to do that.

IMHO, the current state of the issues module is a major obstacle
putting Odoo on par with other CRM/xRM systems. What most other
systems have an advantage over Odoo here:
- full text search over issues, including all notes and messages
(this is absolutely essential)
- easy merge and split of issues
- better UI for issue triaging
See e.g. what Trac etc. do.
I'm looking forward to any progress on this module!
