You are too skeptical. This is a good training material for version 8, you should use it. We used it in most of our v8 training sessions.
  https://www.odoo.com/fr_FR/slides/user-training-4

It's 150 videos covering most of the modules of Odoo 8.

There are not a lot of views because we published these trainings videos recently. (They were hosted elsewhere before)

Valid effort.
The number of views (none above 700) versus the thousands of reputed users gives me pause.
But probably I am too skeptical.
Thank you for the pointer.

As stated before, the rate of change is such that not everyone can keep up with it.
Users, for example.
I would appreciate a link to a comprehensive repository of V8 literature.
And by comprehensive I mean: Accounting, CRM, Sales, Purchases, Project, infrastructure inter alia.
Mind you, we have bet our future on Odoo but we feel we are being left on a limb due to the aforementioned lack. Hope you can prove me wrong.

If you know where to find the functional documentation, and how to help finish it, STOP READING – you can delete this message.

If not, the functional documentation for version 9:

https://www.odoo.com/documentation/user/

Not that this is “In Progress Documentation”, so to review the work in progress visit:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12Xg70FiWQH0LJXsRWVNDO1TwQbhPvV4UFm2UdAAHPrQ/edit#gid=0

The content from the second link will be migrated to the first link as the documentation process continues.

Note: Anyone can contribute to the documentation effort on the second link, informally, and the first link via GITHUB, formally via Pull Requests.

One thing that will always impair greater "consultancy" vs "development" is the consistent lack of comprehensive functional literature.

The effort for 6.0 was great and commendable.

But the rate of change is so significant that urgent matters leave no time (or resources) for important things.

so my question will odoo by gaining  more and more maturity ,reach a level like SAP where there is a lot of integration and little of development?

I do not think so inmediatly, but forvary asic cases, it is actually like that.

The point is that to know how things are working even to configure you always must read the code (even if you are not a programmer adding features).

And other point is that ODoo from version to version @try@ ifferent things which will include again re-learn some things (sometimes for good sometimes not so good).

TO compite with SAP directly you need to understand that developments will be ALWAYS required, at least for the must complex workflows.

i.e.: Configure stock rules need read the code to understand how they works because a lot of thing are not obvious.
