Re: Odoo 9: Billing extra services with subscription moduleby
One problem remaining. In the SO that has the quote template pointing at the subscription template, it now says "This order is linked to a subscription." at the top of the form. Which is correct. And the subscription is viewable in the subscription module. But when I then edit the SO and add a product, then click on Create Invoice to invoice that product, nothing happens. No invoice is created. So in fact it seems that it is not possible to use one SO for both subscription and incidental sales.
Could this be a bug?
You need to use a quote template on the SO. This template should be linked to a subscription template. Product should be a subscription too.On Oct 16, 2015 8:38 AM, "Torvald Baade Bringsvor" <email@example.com> wrote:Thanks for your replies Ray and Fabien.Yes I saw the preentation at the upgrade training but couldn't remember if this case was covered. I tried to add a subscription product to the SO but nothing happened. To quote Fabien from the training: "That would make a really good community module". I think this feature would be a really nice one to have for quite a few people. Also I think the automatic validation of subscription invoices would make a really good addition to the module.-TorvaldTorvald Baade BringsvorBringsvor Consulting AS - Odoo (formerly OpenERP) implementation partner2015-10-16 3:02 GMT+02:00 Fabien Pinckaers <firstname.lastname@example.org>:
"Orders to upsell" is not related to service, but to the fact that:
- you invoice based on ordered quantities (not delivered) and
- you delivered more than ordered
It applies to physical, digital and consumable products too, if I am not wrong.
What you need requires customization. It is not supported out of the box. But you can easily produce two invoices: one coming from the SO, the other one coming from the subscription. You don't need to create two document since the subscription is created by the SO.

I saw the following scenario demonstrated at the upgrade training:
If more have been “delivered” (logged) than ordered, use “Orders to Upsell” from Sales à Invoicing for the ability to Invoice any additional hours.
This works depending on the service product configuration (Invoicing and Track Service) – but I am not completely sure yet how to set it up. Try the demo services.

Subject: Odoo 9: Billing extra services with subscription module
I have a question: If you have a customer with a monthly invoice for some kind of service, then the subscription is the way to do it. But what if you sometimes offer extra services to the customer, for example some hours for some kind of extra work. When you register hours in the timesheet it is possible to select the subscription as the analytic account, but is it possible to add these hours to the next subscription invoice somehow?
Speaking of subscription invoices: Is it possible to send them to the customer (by email) automatically?
