Re: odoo enterprise edition pricing in chinaby
Hi RaphaelSame is true in Australia to a certain extent. As the A$ slips the OPW becomes more expensive (currently the A$ is 0.7 US$ but 8 months ago is was around .95). I prefer to sell our customers the enterprise version as I want to support Odoo S.A. but it gets harder as the A$ slips. Netsuite has local A$ prices. I think A$240 is a really competitive price in Australia and I had no trouble with it. I also believe Odoo should look at country specific pricing as the Euro/US centric view of the world is annoying to say the least.Jon WilsonWillowITOn 9 October 2015 at 02:34, Raphaël Valyi <firstname.lastname@example.org> wrote:Hello,I would also like to mention we ate Akretion explained to Odoo SA that for the Brazilan market, they won't achieve penetration of their Enterprise offer unless they divide their price by 4 or 5. So that's may be not as radical as China, but that's totally out of market too.The point is Odoo, out of the box targets small companies, I would say less than 20 employees. It's perfectly possible to put Odoo in much larger companies and compete with SAP and other high end ERP's, but that requires a lot of integration skills and work. So small Brazilian companies will judge the product out of the box, and the product out of the box, even with localization modules offer much less battle proof ready to use features that matter than a competition of small financial packages that are 5 to 10x cheaper. Of course Odoo is more tunnable because it's open source, but that's far from enough on that low end market, so unless they massively cut their price they will have their Enterprise offer stuck in a very narrow niche here.We are still partner with Odoo SA and will still sell some of their maintenance contracts in the rare niche were if fits, but meanwhile we think the community version will have much more success on the mass market and for us. So aside from the open source ideal, that would also be a commercial suicide for us not to focus on the community version. So our door is still open for negotiation, but we prefer to be clear, here Enterprise will only be considered by the market if massively cheaper. Note that we warned about these points years ago already, so it's not like a bad surprise.Regards.On Thu, Oct 8, 2015 at 4:17 AM, Ana Juaristi <email@example.com> wrote:Hi JefferyIf this is like you say240 eur ~= 2400 cny and 240 usd ~= 1600 cny.
When you say "240 cny should be a good choice for better marketing opportunity", you are decreasing price 10 times since 240cny would be 24€.That's almost the cost of each license for month. Good look if you arrive to have such an offer. :)2015-10-08 8:38 GMT+02:00 Jeffery <firstname.lastname@example.org>:240 usd or 240 eur is more expensive for china market, 240 cny should be a good choice for better marketing opportunity.240 eur ~= 2400 cny and 240 usd ~= 1600 cny.i think odoo sa should reference with netsuite or msft dynamic ax. for IT hardware, like cisco router sold in china with the price of usd but in china currency, and other hardware like avaya telephone take the same pricing strategy in china market.hope this suggestion should help odoo enterprise accepted by china market rapidly. On Thu, Oct 8, 2015 at 1:22 PM, Gunnar Wagner <email@example.com> wrote:On 10/8/2015 11:03 AM, Hans Yonathan wrote:>>Actually we are discussing this too with Odoo, and they consider it if they price is too expensive for china market.
not 100% clear what currency you are referring to.
$240,- or ￥240.- is too expensive for the Chinese market?
