Re: Task delegation in version 9by
Thanks for your reply Fabien, but I'm really just interested in the facility to create child-tasks (and parent-tasks for that matter). Assigning the task to another person is not what I'm wondering about here, though I always thought that creating child and parent tasks under the 'delegation' tab was conflating two concepts a little unnecessarily.
I find creating child tasks is a really valuable project management tool, particularly because the existence of child tasks that have not been marked 'done' will prevent the parent task from being marked done. I'd love to see much more development of task hierarchy functions in the project module, but it sounds like what limited functions exist in v8 might be being removed in v9? Correct me if I'm wrong (hope I am).

Our recommendation is to just assign the task to someone else. It's way easier.I you want to replicate the exact behaviour of v8 (duplicate the task and assign to two different people), you can do it with an automated action. On Mon, Sep 21, 2015 at 3:04 PM, Bill Ennals <firstname.lastname@example.org> wrote:Hi, I've been looking at the beta for v9 and I can't see the facility to delegate tasks anywhere. In previous versions you could turn this facility on in Configuration/Project but that option seems to have been removed in v9. I use this feature extensively to create sub-tasks and would be very disappointed if it has been removed. A bit of googling hasn't turned up any information on it either. Can anyone enlighten me on this topic? Thanks, Bill.
