Hi Robert,

All companies are partners, however, need not be partners be companies. The partner of OpenERP is used to exchanges with other firms (customers or suppliers) with which purchase-sale operations are performed. The company (s) is the entity over which revolve all the processes taking place in the system, in other words, my  company internally.

Greetings

Hi there,
I was assuming that partners can be companies, or persons.
The difference between the two is a flag set: is_company.

Now I see that there is a model for companies and a model for partners (where I
can set a flag is_company).

Can anybody explain, what is the difference between the entity-types?

thanks a lot
robert
