Hello Mohammed

If you want to get three or whatever number of invoices over time, you can use either recurring document available on odoo or recurring contracts.

As Caudal Eric said, payments terms create journal entries not invoices, when attach payments terms to invoice odoo will record payments and the invoice will still open till last payment.

Payment terms will not create one invoice per term. It will create one journal entry with as many journal items as you have terms date.
If 3 dates, you will have 3 lines (one per date) related to AP account.
Invoicing terms is something not existing today in Odoo (and neither in OCA AFAIK).

Thanks Mustafa, but the problem is that it is not working, or I'm expecting something that's  not happening.

for example I expect that If I made a SO with payment term on 3 installments then I will get 3 invoices with accurate due dates based on the payment term, is that right ?

what I actually get is one invoice with the total amount of the SO and even when I try to make a payment on that invoice I get the total amount in the payment not the amount that should be paid based on the payment term.

Any advice ?

Regards,

Hello,

I think it's absolutely right to use it with installments, moreover you can use fellow-up module to track customer payments over time.

in computation lines you could used either percent or fixed amount but the last line must be in balanced
I hope this may help you and forgive me if there is a mistake with this
