Well, all of the existing recurring solutions still lack one thing: the forecasting. Although not the best way, with my module (but I insist, it's a very old one when I started in this world), you can forecast in the sales analysis all future incoming revenues from the same view as the current one, because this view is based on sales orders.

Another solution I thought about was to create analytic lines for this forecasting, but I see more difficult to maintain.

I suppose that your new enterprise module for cash forecasting will have into account this recurring entries, so maybe you have a third option for this task.

Why would you generate sales order again ? Should it be sold again by a 
salesperson ?

sale_contract generate draft invoice and you may choose to confirm them 
manually or automatically (i.e. only credit card debit succeed).
