Re: update all resulted in menu messby
Sorry the solution is probably Uninstaller aeroo, then update all then reinstall aeroo or else patch the code. I don't use it anymore but a patched versions are pretty common as it can be very hard to get bug fixes into the main developers repo.

If you are using aeroo reports then it is your problem. It attempts to be too clever and from memory raises an index error in some code trying to modify a menu unless it is last module in graph. . More generally an error occurs inside a try catch causing module installation to not recalculate parent left and parent right.

Try to use the flag --stop-after-init and --log-level=info.
--stop-after-init = will stop odoo server after all updates are done
--log-level=info = will show you constantly informations what is going on during the update-process

In order to update modules, I ran my server with the flag --update=all and it resulted in my menu bar including all "second level" menus. For instance, we have "Project" on the top bar, but also its sub-menus "Tasks", "Task Stages" and so on.
This is a total mess and makes it impossible to work on this instance.
Any help about how to address the problem would be great. Thanks a lot.
