Re: Odoo 9 on premises pricing.by
Actually this is the correct version of the page (mostly formatting change), which is as Fabrice mentioned is still subject to possible changes:
We want to have a strong community edition AND a strong Enterprise edition. Since this is the first year we are launching an Enterprise edition, we put a little more efforts to have a strong Enterprise edition, but if you look closely, you'll see that a very large chunk of the release goes into the community edition. For instance, the whole of our Odoo Online Summer release (our SaaS offering) will be integrated into the Odoo 9 community edition. Check our release notes, and our blog for details.
There has been many debates in this list on whether having an open core model is the right model, and obviously we fully respect all opinions. One thing is clear for us (as Odoo sa.): our core product and values remain open source.
I have checked the Odoo 9 pricing and i have one question:
Why so many differencies between community and entreprise version?
From my point of view it's far from the open source philosophy. We have putted our trust on Odoo for us to show that there can be open source solution that can set us free from vendors lock in and be at the sa me time competitive regarding prprietary solutions but now i am worried. And it seems Odoo is forsaking its root values that have made us "fall in lov" of this ERP.
