put inherit view's view mode to primary will do the job, just add a line below into your inherit view:
>> <field name="mode">primary</field>

Dears,

How to create new view that inherits - but does not update - an old view ?

For ex. I need to have Sales quotes printed normally with headers and without headers.

for that I created a new report and action to print without header.

but I have modules like sale_layout that modifies the original sale report but it did not update the new print report .

So I need to create the new report's views as an inherited or copy view of the original so that sale_layout will update it also .

Regards,
