I suggest posting the resulting one for clarity, That being said, I'm not really fit myself right now to give support (only checking mail once per day or so) until the end of the month, but many people here are quite knowledgeable about this. > > from this directory i did run bin/buildout: > > is that ok so? > > > I had to install a number of dev files, Yes, buildout needs to be able to compile the needed Python extensions, it's not specific to Odoo, but Odoo has quite a few dependencies. For Debian and its derivatives, we provide a convenience dependency package for that (check http://apt.anybox.fr). > now buildout did its job and I > can start: > bin/start_odoo > > something starts .. > I get the following output: > > robert@mozart:~/projects/urgestein/urgestein$ bin/start_odoo > 2015-07-22 16:51:34,006 18081 INFO ? openerp: OpenERP version 8.0 > 2015-07-22 16:51:34,006 18081 INFO ? openerp: addons paths: > ['/home/robert/.local/share/Odoo/addons/8.0', > u'/home/robert/projects/urgestein/urgestein/parts/odoo/openerp/addons', > u'/home/robert/projects/urgestein/urgestein/parts/odoo/addons'] > 2015-07-22 16:51:34,006 18081 INFO ? openerp: database hostname: localhost > 2015-07-22 16:51:34,006 18081 INFO ? openerp: database port: 5432 > 2015-07-22 16:51:34,006 18081 INFO ? openerp: database user: robert > > now what? That looks pretty normal at first sight. In theory, you should have a working Odoo answering on http://localhost:8069 (and http://localhost:8072 for longpolling operations), assuming you didn't add configuration to change that. Now does this user has access to a database it owns through "peer" PostgreSQL authentication ? If not, maybe do you need to alter configuration for PG connection ? Nice hostname, by the way. > > I am lost. > thanks for your feedback. > > robert > > > > is there a documentation somewhere. the one linked to from github > > seems to be rather out of date. > > Especially, does this recipe expect any thing unusual installed? > > > > thanks > > robert > > > > On 21.07.2015 17:11, Georges Racinet wrote: > >> Dear community, > >> > >> I have been for several years now the maintainer of the Odoo buildout > >> recipe (anybox.recipe.odoo) but recently, my schedule has become an > >> impediment (in part because I only work part-time). > >> > >> So, after I had took too much time merging some simple PRs, I decided to > >> give commit rights to two persons outside of Anybox, and start applying > >> a PR workflow to my own major changes. > >> > >> Those two persons are Laurent Mignon and Sandy Carter, two of the most > >> active contributors, but that decision was not driven by a deep > >> political analysis : it was meant to be done immediately, without delay > >> imposed by actual thinking about it, just to cut the possible > >> contention.
