Re: Odoo POS Loads Slowlyby
The POS loading time can be reduced by fine tuning the pricelist calculation and load only the products available in that particular location/outlet, by default odoo loads all the products available to pos(marked in product master), irrespective of the product availability in that location. If new products come to the location.....they can refresh the browser to get the new products loads to the POS..

my2cents, in principle it is not a good design to require the entire catalog to be downloaded to a browser only to allow the program to run in offline mode. It is adding such a tremendous penalty to gain a feature. What if the customer has over 100,000 sku, or even just 50,000. Odoo needs to scale, and be the BEST. How could it possibly do that, if it chokes at that many products.Long story short, it is not a good idea to offer only one option which requires a complete download, caching or not, seriously. On Tue, Jul 14, 2015 at 10:09 AM, Carlos Paz <firstname.lastname@example.org> wrote:I've been working with a database with 15k customers and products, of course I had to custom POS in order to become more effective for my needs, but we had a good performance with a Core i3 and 8gb Ram.On Tue, Jul 14, 2015 at 9:41 AM, Andrei Levin <email@example.com> wrote:If you are using OpenERP 7.0, the problem is the wrong image field. Depending of the size of your database, it can be huge (12.000 > products is a lot) so it will definitely take time. > > For version 9, we will be trying to implement some caching mechanisms to > avoid reloading everything at each load (but it's not there yet). > Patches for improving the performances are welcomed. > > -- > Martin Trigaux > Odoo (Formerly OpenERP) > https://odoo.com > https://github.com/mart-e > > _______________________________________________ > Mailing-List: https://www.odoo.com/groups/community-59 > Post to: mailto:email@example.com > Unsubscribe: https://www.odoo.com/groups?unsubscribe -- Didotech Srl Via T.Aspetti, 248 35133 Padova (PD) Tel 049 8592286 Cell.: 347-2426694 www.didotech.com
