Re: Odoo/Odoo and OCA/OCB relationsby
A OCB docker image on the docket hub repository might be worthwhile. There is no more simplicity than that.
OCB is definitively quality work worth spreading.
So I'm absolutely with you that simpler approaches are needed.
Maybe here at DevCO we can leverage some of our docker experience in order to make some fantastically elegant deployment option.
Any thoughts from OCA officials?
BTW David, is there any easy way to install OCB (such as ‘apt-get install odoo’) through package? I assume OCB install and update is meant to be done through git but description of some simpler approaches may nicely fit in your blog ;)

Perfectly fits my blog post series... ;)
OCB is a friendly fork of Odoo 8 and is not merged back into the main branch.
It contains the standard version of Odoo + unmerged bugfixing that are not yet accepted/treated in standard Odoo.
It is been tested through OCA Continuous Integration server so it is reliable and fully usable in production environment. Besides per se, it contains more bug fixing than the standard branch.
You should be able to use a standard DB from Odoo 8 into OCB (and vice-versa). Normally bug fixing should not impact the data model but slight difference might appear. Nevertheless, you should test it thoroughly before proceeding in production environment.

I would like to know the relation between OCB and Odoo repos .
what i want to know is:
does the commits to OCB get merged with Odoo and vice versa ?!
are they compatible if I'm using Odoo can I switch to OCB with current DBs ?
