As we stated in contributing guidelines[1], we will always prioritize
pull requests over issues. We keep them as it's sometimes a good source
of information and people can discuss on it but if you can provide a
fix, definitely make a PR.

If you want to get reviewed faster, try to be as clear as possible to
explain the issue and how to reproduce it.

As Antony explained, we have been merging many PR lately and there is
many that are actually internal dev.
But even with that there is still many to review and classify.

One issue we have is that to be able to classify issues and PR, you need
to have commit rights on GitHub. We would love to allow contributors to
help us in the review process but that's of course a permission we can
not give for now.
As long as GitHub has not a finer the permission system (on the
way?[2]), we would need to rely on external tool (if you know a good
one, please share).

If you believe one of your PR is more urgent, try to ping the dev who
may be the most adequate to review it (of course need some experience
but checking the history of the files on GitHub may give you hints on
who works on what).
