Hi Jordi,
Actually we have already created the features WBS and "type" at task level, not project level.
We are actually implementing for our own use some extra features such as:
- Fields for manual Planning in tasks (just adding 4 fields, one per period so that we know when the task is planned). We create our planning in Excel for the moment but it could be fed by any connector
- Simplified timesheet form to quicken the data entry in the task.
- Improved Reports (simple priority list to prepare the planning and completion report to evaluate "done vs planned" and "planned vs done")
They are still raw so we didnot not propose to publish them to OCA but at least we could make them available in our github if somebody is interested

We have a couple of modules that can be useful for such purpose:

- "project_wbs" simplifies the navigation across the project hierarchy.
- "analytic_account_class" allows to classify projects (e.g. phase, deliverable, work package,...=

For 8.0 you can find the modules here (pending to adapt to new API):

We are also interessed by this feature.

Regarding this, what we need to implement is a 3 degree project :

Project (an event in our case)
Phases (an activity in our case)

As phases concept disappeared in v8, we are wondering the best way to handle it now.

Objet: Long term project (aka phases) in v8
Has somebody ported fully or partially the project_longterm from v7 to v8?
I am particularly interested in the phase model more than the buggy scheduler.
If not we will create it: let me know your feedback on features
