hi,
if you consider Odoo as your ERP, you shouldn't expose it to internet.
if your wokstations are save, use VPN. If they are not embed desktops
in the safe zone. I use X2go (NX protocol ) for this.
if you use Odoo as a web site, just don't feed it with critical data
and watch connections. In case Odoo gets contaminated, secure the
system, ie no root execution of Odoo, a jailed process in a
subdirectory (important), a single database on the production server
etcc, classical stuff
