+1 for reporting_currency. Reporting with another (rather stable) currency is required in countries with a fluctuating currency.

We have plans to implement reporting_currency. Any help or heads-up is appreciated.

Simply all main objects (so/po/invoices/stock moves) should have a field amount_currency or reporting_currency.
Reports should be modified accordingly.
I hope v9 improves this part

Just a sample for 7.0 to modify invoice list view to add columns to show base currency amounts (converted from the transaction currency amounts using the exchange rate of the invoice date), which show the total at the bottom.

You can apply the same logic to SO, PO, etc.

It is a different approach than grouping by currency, but to me showing base currency amounts and their totals would provide better overview of the situation (I think many enterprise systems take this approach by default).

I had that problem on V7. If you cannot midify currency_id to be stored (saas) then you can still broup by list price. What you could also do is modify the tree view and remove the automatic total.

here's a stepby-step:

Arjan,

This is a bug throughout all Odoo. The system automatically sums certain type of fields and, as the currency or the unit of measure is not linked technically to that field, the system does not realise, they are different. I heard rumurs saying that this will be corrected by version 9.

In the meantime, you can create a standard grouping by currency or any unit of measure in your views, so that you always see the sum by currency.

Good luck

I have created 2 SO, one in the local currency, and one in dollars through a pricelist i have set.

however the SO screen shows a total of the both, and summed them as if they were of the same currency.

Anyone?
