Hello,

In Odoo to import the images massively still is the mistery of life.

And a lot of our client want this kind of function.

Is there someone that already achieve this?

Actually I understand why its hard, because image is saved in binary in database.

I hope Odoo considered so we can have a choice to store it on the file system or in binary.

Like what you did on attachment right now.

Thank You.

Best Regards,

Martin,

Good to hear  this. We have nearly 20K products with no images and it takes several minutes to load the POS. We had to tweek the server so it wouldn't time out during the POS startup.  It's more than just a problem with images, so I hope you are caching the products themselves. (or possibly you could allow the POS to start while the products load in the background). Once the POS is up, we are able to find and select products quickly.

FYI, we are working on the loading of the POS to implement some caching

for images.

The loading has been greatly accelerated between v7 and 8 but we are

trying to make it better (we have some customers working with 20.000

products, fast when selling but loading takes minutes).

We are still at the dev stage (PR 5686) so not sure it's going to be

merged like this but we are definitely working on it.
