We tried that and it does not work all the time.
A case of buffering I guess ....

A simple workaround is to have playground or test or sandbox (however you want to call them) users named with a prefix.
Admin becomes PG admin
Luis becomes PG Luis 
and so on.
We have automated that so when the new playground is generated the usernames have the prefix appended. 
And it is quite simple for anyone to know where they stand.
