Re: Odoo inventory management mobile appby
Is it not what you are targeting for? Below 2 articles describing use cases for already existing Android application that specializes on Warehouse management and integrates with hardware scanners
Naran,We do not agree with a paid only license approach as this defeats the concept of Open Source which Odoo is based upon. Plus we are developers. Our mobile application will function much differently than the desktop Odoo interface, and will only serve the purpose of Warehouse/Inventory Management. The desktop UI is an excellent management interface and works really well for a desk person, manager, etc, however typical warehouse workers may never interface with the desktop application and do 90% of their job from a mobile computer. The needs of the mobile application are much different than a forms based approach which is what Odoo does today.
The mobile application suggested here will 'direct' a worker to perform warehouse operations, improve efficiency of the worker, and provide a different user experience than the desktop UI could ever offer. An example would be directing a worker to a pick where they would confirm by scanning an item, then directing them to another location after verification. The desktop application has several limitations which prevents this type of user experience. In addition to these capabilities, the application will add new inventory management concepts to Odoo with emphasis on bin level inventory management, putaway, picking, and replenishment.A better description of what is being proposed would be an extension of the WMS with a full mobile interface. On Sun, Feb 15, 2015 at 2:37 AM, Naran M <firstname.lastname@example.org> wrote:
Hi - Did you had a look at https://merpapp.com/ , as Mobile Odoo App this the best I have seen and reasonably happy with it. Also, they are releasing mERP warehouse focused on warehouse operations. I’d recommend to give it a try and see if your requirements are met.Cheers,Naran

Support for forward pick, overstock, etc.Hello Community,Recently we have had a lot of requests around mobile inventory management. In the Ecommerce companies we work with this is a must. We are reaching out to see if it's worth kicking off a crowdfund for such a project. We have done some mobile apps in the past, however the customer wanted them closed source.
Here's the features were looking at:Reslotting productReplenishment in warehousePrint labels from a mobile device to a network printerSome of these features may require an extension of the Odoo framework. The architecture would either be a Flask app or Web2py application that uses XML-RPC API to Odoo. It would be something like Jquery front end or just a simple button interface. Ideally it works on HTML5 browser.
This would not be an App, it would be a web application that runs on a server, therefore making it platform independent as long as the mobile device supports HTML5.Once complete, this would be a fully open source free program.
