Under Linux or any other freedesktop compliant distribution the data is
$HOME/.local/Odoo and can be override with --data-dir=

probably --data-dir=   would be used to change the filestore location if you start your odoo server by using `python odoo.py` command.

    python odoo.py --data-dir=/path/to/filestore

right?

Two questions

... how can you change location of filestore if you start odoo with a startup script like `sudo su - odoo /opt/odoo/odoo-server/openerp-server --config=/etc/odoo-server.conf`? Would adding a line `data-dir=/path/to/filestore` in you /etc/odoo.conf do that?
What happens with the existing files in $HOME/.local/Odoo/filestore once you change the data-dir? How can you move them over to the new location?

(ok that where 4 questions ...)
