Re: Inventory value treatment is not consistent in Odooby
Even if there is no menu on standard view to see cost history, information is recorded each time cost value changes on product form
There os only an small problem... Price is recorded related to a template not a variant.
In odoomrp we built a menu history price to have access to this table and we are also extending module to record that information related to product
If this could help to arrive to have what you need, feel free to use
My 2 cents
When using standard average costing, the system will always show in the quant the moves valuated at the actual cost. So the history of the cost is only in the purchase order. When using moving average costing, the system will always show in the quant the moves valuated at the actual MAP. So the history of the cost is only in the purchase order. When using real time costing, the system shows in the quant the moves valuated at the purchase priced + landed costs, if added to it. So, I can see the history of the cost in PO and LC.So, it means that you always need to know what type of costing you have for each product before being able to analyse the quants from an accounting point of view.In the product form, the real price is only updated with the last done movement, what is even further confusing for the end user. Beside being totally irrelevant in most cases. So, there is no unified method to see the value of the stock for a specific productI do not believe that a standard user can follow what is happening, if for internal reasons, the company is using all three costing methods. And this is the case for producing companies.Share your thoughts
